.. . 1| installation . .. . .. . . .
yairc? is very easy to install. you just need to do download the perl's Tk module (Tk8 or higher) or Gtk one, depend which version of yairc do you get, from search.cpan.org and install it and that's all needed to run yairc.pl.

.. . ..2| multi server facility . .. . .
yairc? was made to combine userfriendlyness and efficience. Just one explaination is needed about how to use thew multiserver facility. Choose the 'new server' item From the menu file each time you want to connect to a new server. you will then see the server appearing on the listbox in the channelstatus. To provide a more efficient use of yairc there's a single status line common to all servers to avoid annoying multiple status windows when using several servers. if you want to send a command from the status window you will then need to choose the server you want to send the command to. clicking on the server in the listbox will determine the server which will receive the command. once you have joined a channel typing a command in the channel will automatically sent it to the corresponding server. to disconnect from a server click the server in the status'listbox and choice 'disconnect'

. .. .get the #channel stat by double-clicking the topic bar.
switch channels/query with alt-. . . .

.3| logs . .. .
nstead of creating multiple log files yairc? choose to create only one global logfile. a parser will manage it and create only the specific logfile you want.

. . .. .4| fun functions
as yairc is not a fun client the only fun function available is the /perl -[wle]command which allow you to execute perl oneliners on your channel windows and the /perldoc command. please be aware of the infinite program which may block the client.
.. . /slap will slap whatever you want around a bit with a large trout whereas /sv will show your irc client version .. . .

.5| scriptability . .. . yairc? allows you to make your own irc scripts. you can do in those scripts everything perl allow you to do. instead of explaining how exactly works the scripting in yairc (conscient that very few people will read that)i choosed to show you 2 simple scripts (script.pm and script2.pm) which i hope will help you understanding how to use the scripts in yairc?. use /load script and /unload script to respectively load and unload the script. the script won't be loaded if it is syntaxically incorrect. i suggest you to first check its correctness with the -c option (perl -c script.pm). if your script get loaded but provoque an error during his execution the related sub won't be executed and you'll can see the specific error in the terminal window.

.. .. . .. . . . . . . . . . . .
yairc? is always in construction state so don't hesitate to send me suggestions or enhancements to improve yairc? and make it the best client fitting your preferences. please email your mind to ya@phear.org
